To ski or not to ski
The perfect base from which to hit the slopes...But if skiing/snowboarding isn't your thing, book a guided snowshoe tour with a local company and enjoy the alpine area without the stress of learning to ski. A fun day out for everyone to enjoy!
Or if you are feeling adventurous scenic heli flights over Mt Kosciusko pick up and drop off from the front door of the cabins.

Nest Stays
Cooma, NSW
What you can look forward to...
Lovingly restored terraces with alllll the special touches! Comfy beds, soft sheets and rain showers - a real luxury getaway in the bush.
Cooma's hidden highlights
Cooma is an easy day trip to the slopes (a little over an hour to most resorts) in the winter but if skiing isn't your thing Cooma itself has plenty to offer.
Enjoy a spot of shopping at birds nest! You can even book a styling session or enjoy the luxe Nest Lounge with besties.
Eat out at our two favourites: @rosesrestaurant_ (delicious Lebanese food using locally sourced ingredients) or @phasthai (tasty Thai and cocktails).
Get off the beaten path
The Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool feeds from natural springs and stays at a constant 27 degrees all year round. It's truly spectacular soaking in the pools when there is snow or frost surrounding you! Find a picnic spot on the nearby Lake Eucumbene and enjoy trout fishing or for something different, visit the highest settlement in Australia (when the road allows), Cabramurra.
Sleeps 4, 2 bedrooms
Sherwood Cottage
Cooma, NSW
What you can look forward to...
Sherwood is an architecturally designed cottage on a working cattle farm, in the picturesque Monaro region (2 hrs from Canberra). It offers a rare opportunity to combine a farm stay and ski holiday in one perfect spot!
Fishing, Skiing and Beaches
We'd find it hard to leave the cosy cottage (too busy fawning over the interiors) and fire pit but a wander down to the river for a picnic and a fire is too good to miss. The property is on the banks of the Maclaughlin River, a well-known fly-fishing stream, so BYO lemon and butter for a tasty rainbow trout cooked on the open fire!
It's a short drive (1hr and 15mins) to Thredbo for a day on the slopes in the winter season or take a meandering drive to the south coast gem of Merimbula during the summer. The region is brimming with places to explore.
