What is a favourite winter highlight at The Wool Store?
The cosiness! We recently added in double glazed windows and an iron clad gas fire in the Penthouse and an outdoor fire-pit in our Soho private courtyard.
What are some great winter activities in the area?
The award winning Bathurst Winter Festival is a big drawcard. It runs from 1 - 16 July and the festival grounds are a mere two minute walk from The Wool Store. There's stunning lights shows, a huge outdoor ice rink, show rides, gourmet food and drinks, live music, roving entertainment, games and more!

The Ridge House
What is a favourite winter highlight at The Ridge House?
The property has THREE wood fires - two inside and one outside. There's something incredibly calming about the flickering flames and the gentle crackle of the logs, especially when the air outside is chilly and crisp and it's a clear night sky.
What are some great winter activities in the area?
Mt Baw Baw. is only a 75 minute drive and the journey itself is a beautiful way to take in the snowy winter gum tree scenery. On the mountain there is snowshoeing, tobogganing, and cross-country skiing. And for something truly unique, you can visit the Dingo Resource Centre and meet the native mountain Dingoes.
The Warragul Farmers Markets are held on the third Saturday of each month. It's a great way to meet some of the locals, buy the delicious produce from the region and support farmers and producers.

Rug up and take a self guided tour of Goulburn, so rich in history.
Visit Kingsdale Wines (opposite Kingsdale 1882) for an afternoon glass or two of award winning cool climate wines, while watching the sunset over Sooley Dam.
Fishing at Pejar Dam, catch your own fresh trout for dinner.
Jump in the car and take a leisurely country drive to surrounding pretty towns and villages.

What are some great winter activities in the area?
The Yarrangobilly Caves Thermal Pool feeds from natural springs and stays at a constant 27 degrees all year round. It's truly spectacular soaking in the pools when there is snow or frost surrounding you!
Exploring the yummy eateries, wineries, breweries and distilleries in the area. A few of our favourites are Shut The Gate Wine Cellar Door in Berridale, The Wild Brumby Distillery in Jindabyne and Dalgety Brewery in Dalgety. The drive to each is an experience in itself following the winding country roads of the Monaro with views of the towering snow capped mountains in Kosciuszko National Park.
Jump on to a guided tour with Sip The Snowies or book a private transfer with some of the local operators to really enjoy the local cuisine.
The CMR Artisan Markets are held on the second Sunday of the month in Cooma at the historic Cooma Monaro Railway station.
