How did you come to offer accommodation in the bush?
Thomas and Kristen both studied Hotel Management after leaving school and have worked in the hospitality industry their entire professional careers. They visited Orange over a 20 year period as Thomas' family had a farm located 20 minutes from the town centre. Over the years, they witnessed Orange developing into a sophisticated region that had a gap in the market for a luxurious accommodation alternative. In 2019, Thomas and Kristen and their family moved from Sydney to open and operate the Byng Street Hotel, their first business of their own. They wanted to create an accommodation alternative that was luxurious and bespoke, but most importantly focused on the guest experience, ensuring service is attentive and personalised, with a warm and inviting ambience.
