Description
Corunna Station is a great country escape for groups of friends or family in the heart of the beautiful Hunter Valley. Set on 100 acres of private rural property, Corunna Station was the largest sheep shearing station in the Hunter established in 1880. The property retains all the original agricultural buildings including the shearing shed, hay shed, and wood mill.
Current custodians Angela and Gerard Kesby welcome you to Corunna Station, located on Hermitage Road, just minutes from the Hunter expressway exit, easily accessible, yet only minutes from some of the best restaurants and cellar doors in the region.
The property is perfect for bridal parties or Corunna Station also offers all inclusive mid week packages for micro weddings (max 22 for guests staying onsite across 3 houses) and for that extra something special add on massages and ice baths or in house wine tastings (for extra charges).
About the community
The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest wine growing region, with world class wineries and restaurants . It is a gourmand's delight. Hot air ballooning, helicopter rides, horse-riding, electric bike hire, and aqua golf are a few of the highlight activities. The community is close knit with neighbours helping neighbours. Our neighborhood social events feature some of the best wines in the country.
The owner’s favourite thing to do at the property
Wake up early and walk down to the billabong. We can't wait for the fingerlings that we have put into the dams to grow, so that we can fish. Abundant bird life and kangaroos call the farm home, as well as cattle and horses. We are lucky that previous generations left the old historic buildings standing.
Imagining what life was like over 100 years ago when they set up the wood mill to saw the timber for the Wool Shed, Homestead, Cooks House and other outbuildings, makes us appreciate the true grit of our predecessors. Entertaining friends and family, or curling up in front of the fire is what makes Corunna special.
The owner’s favourite day trip nearby
Taking a long lazy meander through the Around Hermitage wine trail, ending up at a fabulous restaurant like Bistro Molines. For a truly memorable day wake up early and take a balloon trip high above the valley, and then have a champagne breakfast at Peterson House Winery. Exploring the nearby historic villages of Morpeth, and Wollombi.
Guests should not forget to pack their
Wellies, mountain bike, marshmallows.
