The Wool Store (Bathurst, NSW)
Location: Bathurst, NSW
Getting there: Under 3 hours from Sydney
Sleeps: Up to 20, across 5 apartments
Bedrooms: The 5 Wool Store apartments range from 1 – 4 bedrooms
The Property:
After five years living in New York, Mez and Hamish Keith returned to Bathurst with a dream of creating a spectacular range of luxury accommodation in Bathurst. The latest addition to their stable of Wilga Station properties, The Wool Store, has just opened in the heart of Bathurst’s iconic, central heritage precinct, with a New York theme.
The Wool Store offers visitors, the choice of five New York loft style, luxury apartments including, wait for it … a breathtaking penthouse with 360-degree views across the city’s historic skyline. Luxury touches abound in every apartment including designer and custom bespoke furniture, high-end appliances, exposed brick walls and original wooden beams.
The spectacular triple bricked heritage building was built in 1875 as a bulk-delivery store for selling wool and Mez and Hamish have cleverly reimagined, and honoured, the original building, taking it to a whole new level of cool while showcasing original industrial features including the loading doors and gantry.
About your local community:
Step outside and within a block or two you have access to Bathurst’s award-winning cafes, restaurants, bars, delis and boutique retail shops. Whilst Bathurst’s retail centre, theatre, cinemas, the Bathurst Conference Centre and the famous Bathurst Courthouse are an easy 5-minute walk away.
What is your favourite thing to do at this property:
As the pink tones of a Bathurst sunset descend across the town, my favourite thing to do is sit up in the penthouse, glass of local wine in hand, and sit by our floor to ceiling window to watch the colours and unwind.
What is your favourite trip close by:
Taking a drive to picturesque Rockley, an historic village, just 25-minutes from Bathurst. Chef Matt Moran has taken over the famous Rockley Pub, which now boasts a new Moran-style pub menu and drinks list. Next door to the pub is “The Olive Robin”, a country home & lifestyle boutique where you will always find that special something. I then love to just stroll around this picturesque part of the Central West.
Guests should not forget to pack their….
Walking shoes. The Wool Store is a quiet oasis right in the middle of Bathurst. Just metres from the famous (and stunning) Machattie Park, cafes, coffee shops, bars, restaurants and the best of Bathurst’s boutique retail shops. The Wool Store is perfectly positioned to stroll the town of Bathurst!
