Description:
A family owned and operated working sheep station and tourism enterprise, located on the Eastern side of Ikara Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia.
Upalinna means 'Little Water' in the Adnyamathana language. The station has many springs throughout and the Wilpena creek snakes its way east through the property.
Enjoy strolling through native pine forests and gum lined creeks; gaze at the millions of stars in our Milky Way at night; see fossils and Yellow Footed Rock wallabies in Brachina Gorge; and enjoy the wildlife in the area such as kangaroos, emus, echidnas, galahs, parrots and reptiles.
Note - Upalinna Station is open April - October (closed over the Summer months due to extreme temperatures.)

Upalinna is located 10km from the majestic Wilpena Pound, the icon of the Flinders Ranges. We try and provide the best country experience and hospitality there is to offer guests. We work together with other local tourism operators to support and encourage great tourism experiences. Most of us are pastoralists, hardworking and resilient. We want visitors to be able to experience a glimpse of our lifestyle and welcome travellers to our region with open arms.

Walking! (There is plenty of space to ramble through our property and enjoy all that nature has to offer). Spending time around a campfire in the cooler months.

A great round trip that takes in many sights is:
Upalinna to Blinman via Hucks and Stokes Hill Lookouts. A mine tour at Blinman and something to eat at the Miners Crib Bakery or the Blinman Hotel "The Pub in the Scrub". Then on to the Prairie Hotel at Parachilna via the Parachilna Gorge. Finally, through Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorges back to Upalinna.
Guests should not forget to pack…
A good pair of walking shoes and woollen jumpers in the cooler months. A good book never goes astray out here either.
